You can deduct an amount from the usual cost of many things you sell in your Pike13 business in several ways. You can:
- Add a discount at the time of sale, whether as a calculated percentage or a specific amount.
- Apply a coupon discount as part of a promotion at the time of sale either in the Shopping Cart or in Checkout.
- Set a one-time discount to be applied to an upcoming payment.
- Override the price so that it doesn’t show up on your client’s invoice as a discount.

How discounted passes and plans affect staff pay rates
When a staff pay rate is defined as a percent of the price that the client has paid and the client visit is paid for by a pass or plan that was sold at a discount, the discount is applied directly to the staff member’s pay rate. Because computing a per-visit price isn’t possible for an unlimited plan, staff pay is based on the single-visit price of the service paid by an unlimited plan.
It’s important to pay attention to how your discount and pay rate settings work together:
Discount and pay rate settings | Client discount | Staff pay rate set at | Staff earns |
---|---|---|---|
$ discount with % base pay | $20 off $100 visit ($80) | 50% of visit | $40 for visit |
% discount with % base pay | 50% of $100 visit ($50) | 50% of visit | $25 for visit |
$ discount with fixed base pay | $80 off $100 visit ($20) | $40 per visit | $40 for visit |
% discount with fixed base pay | 50% of $100 visit ($50) | $40 per visit | $40 per visit |
Discount on unlimited plan (single-visit price: $20) | ($20) | 50% per visit | $10 (regardless of total plan price) |
Comparing discount methods

---|---|---|---|
Discount and comp | Owners, managers, unlimited staff | Separate line item | Notifications, reports |
Coupon | Unlimited staff, clients | Separate line item | Restrictions, reports |
Price override | Owners, managers | Product price adjustment | N/A |
