Services are the events your clients can enroll in and attend at your studio. In Pike13, you can create 3 different types of services and each one has unique features. Below we walk through the differences between each of the 3 types of services: Classes, Courses and Appointments.
Classes
Classes work well for group-based lessons. Classes occur at regularly scheduled times and more than one client can register online for a class. Clients can also selectively enroll and cancel classes online. Classes can be set up to allow drop-ins, makeups and a waitlist. Common uses include group training, open gym and WOD (workout of the day).
Example: Intro Yoga is scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6-7am with no end date.
Courses
A course is also a group-based service that is scheduled with a specific start and end date. Clients are required to pay the full enrollment fee in advance. Once the enrollment fee is paid, the client will be automatically enrolled into every event in the series. Courses cannot be paid for with a pass or plan and courses do not allow for drop-ins or makeups. Common uses include bootcamps, camps, events and workshops.
Example: Weekly Camp is scheduled Monday- Friday at 9am-3pm and clients must pay $250 to enroll in all 5 days.
Warning
Course Limitations
Clients must pay the course fee in full, upfront. They cannot pay for a course with a plan or pass. Clients must also attend all of the sessions. They cannot drop-in, makeup a missed session, attend part of the course or be added to a waitlist. Clients cannot cancel their course online or choose to reschedule their course.
Appointments
An appointment is a private service that is scheduled on demand based on staff member availability. Clients can schedule times as needed and pay for visits using a plan or pass. Only one client can book an appointment online with an instructor and appointments are booked based on the staff member's availability. Common uses include one-on-ones, consultations, evaluations, lessons, massages, nutrition consulting, and personal training.
