Connecting your Stripe Account and transfering your existing Stripe customers and payment methods to Pike13
This guide shows you how to move your existing Stripe customers and their saved payment methods (credit cards) into the Stripe account connected to Pike13, so you don't have to ask clients to re-enter their card details.
You'll do this in two places: first you'll connect your Stripe account to Pike13, then you'll request the data transfer from Stripe. Pike13 handles the final import.
Prerequisites
- Pike13 has configured your business to use the Stripe Connect gateway. Contact Pike13 support to confirm this is done before you begin.
- You have login access to your business's existing Stripe account.
- You have Pike13 access to Settings → Payment Types.
Note: Only someone who can log in to your original Stripe account can complete these steps. If that's not you, loop in your business owner or whoever manages your Stripe account.
1. Connect your Stripe account to Pike13
- In Pike13, go to Settings → Payment Types (https://<your-subdomain>.pike13.com/desk/settings/payment_types).
- Click the Stripe Connect Integration tab.
- Sign in using your existing Stripe account credentials.
- When prompted to choose an account, select your existing Stripe account.
- Follow the remaining Stripe prompts.
You should be redirected back to Pike13, with your new Connected Account listed on the Stripe Connect Integration tab.
2. Confirm you can access both Stripe accounts
You now have two Stripe accounts: your original account and the new account connected to Pike13.
- Log in to your Stripe Dashboard.
- Click your business name in the top-left corner.
- Confirm you can switch between your original (non-connected) account and your new Pike13 Connected Account.
Make a note of the account ID for each. You'll need them in the next step:
- Sender: your original, non-connected Stripe account
- Recipient: your new Pike13 Connected Account
3. Request the data transfer from Stripe
Stripe performs the actual copy of your customer records and payment methods. Follow Stripe's self-serve migration instructions:
Stripe: Self-serve PAN copy (full data migration)
When Stripe asks for the sending and receiving accounts, use the sender and recipient account IDs from Step 2.
4. Tell Pike13 the transfer is complete
Once your Stripe Dashboard shows the transfer as complete, contact Pike13 support. Our team will import your customer data and payment methods from the Connected Account into Pike13.
After Pike13 confirms the import is finished, open a few client profiles in Pike13 and check that their saved payment methods appear as expected.
Common issues
- The Stripe Connect Integration tab isn't showing. Your business hasn't been configured for the Stripe Connect gateway yet. Contact Pike13 support.
- You can't find your existing account during the connect flow. You may be signed in to Stripe with a different login. Sign out of Stripe, sign back in with the credentials for your existing business account, and retry Step 1.
- You only see one account in the Stripe Dashboard account switcher. The connection in Step 1 didn't finish. Repeat Step 1 and follow the prompts until Stripe redirects you back to Pike13.
