Taking Screenshots

When you encounter an issue in Pike 13, a screenshot is often the fastest way for our Help Desk to understand what you’re seeing. Whether it’s an error message or a formatting glitch, seeing what you see helps us get to the bottom of the problem much faster.

Windows PC

Entire Screen:
  • Press the Print Screen key (usually labeled PrtScn or PrtSc) to capture the entire screen. The screenshot will be saved to your clipboard.
  • Selected Portion: Press Windows + Shift + S to open the Snip & Sketch tool. Drag to select the area you want to capture, and it will be saved to your clipboard.
  • Active Window: Press Alt + Print Screen to capture the active window.

Mac

Entire Screen:
  • Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 3 to capture the entire screen. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop by default.
  • Selected Portion — Save to Desktop:
    Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4, then drag to select the area you want to capture. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop by default.
  • Selected Portion — Copy to Clipboard:
    Press Command (⌘) + Control + Shift + 4, then drag to select the area you want to capture. The screenshot will be copied to your clipboard so you can paste it directly into an email, chat, or document.


Remember, these shortcuts may vary slightly depending on your specific system configuration.
