Appointments services are designed for one client to reserve a private session with a staff member. Once a client has booked an appointment, another client cannot book or add themselves to this same appointment.
However, if you want to offer semi-private appointments where multiple clients can book and share the session, you have a few different options to choose from. You can set up semi-private appointments either as an appointment service, which is managed by staff, or as a class service, which allows clients to self-enroll. Below are the steps for both methods:
Set up semi-privates as an appointment service and have staff add additional clients
If you prefer to manually manage the semi-private bookings, you can set up the appointment as a regular appointment service and allow staff to add clients. Here’s how to do it:
Create an appointment called semi-private. Once the appointment is created, you can add times that staff members are available for semi-privates. Only one appointment service is required to accommodate two, three, or four clients at a time, because staff must add additional clients.
You can choose to allow one client to book the appointment time online. After the one client books, staff can enroll additional clients to this semi-private appointment time.
Another option is to only allow staff to book semi-privates. When a group requests a semi-private, staff can book an appointment and include the entire group.
Set up semi-privates as a class service and allow clients to enroll themselves
If you want to allow clients to self-enroll in a semi-private session, you can create a class service. This method is ideal if you want clients to have the ability to book themselves without staff intervention. Create a class service named semi-private and set a capacity greater than 1. This will allow more than one client to enroll themselves in the class. Once the class is set up, you will need to build the class schedule by creating separate class times for each day and time clients can enroll in.
