Use payroll to track and manage your staff’s pay for services. You can also set up commission rates for sales.

Adding staff pay rates

  1. At the top of any Pike13 page, select Staff.
  2. Select Pay Rates from the right sidebar.
    • Select Service Name and +New Pay Rate if service already has a pay rate
    • Select Add Rate next to service if service does not already have a pay rate
  3. Enter a base pay rate
    • For Courses and Classes enter a fixed dollar amount
    • For Appointments select Commission rate is a fixed dollar amount or Commission rate is a percentage of total sale then enter a fixed amount or percentage amount.
  4. If staff members are awarded attendance bonuses for this service, select one or both of the following under Bonuses for attendance
    • Per-client bonuses
      • Select Add Bonus under Per-client bonuses
      • Enter a bonus amount per client and specify any restrictions
    • Tiered bonuses
      • Select Add Bonus under Tiered bonuses
      • Enter a bonus amount and when attendance reached triggers that tier.
  5. Select if unpaid and/or free visits count toward bonuses.
  6. Select Create.
  7. On the Pay Rate Details page, select Assign Staff Members,
  8. Select staff members for this pay rate
  9. Select Save.

Warning

Unlimited Plans and Percentage Pay rates

If an unlimited plan is used for an appointment with a percentage pay rate, the staff pay is based on the single-visit price of the service. Pike13 does not calculate per visit costs on an unlimited plan.

Managing irregular payroll items

Staff members can create their own one-time or irregular payroll items, commonly used to report hourly work or special work items. Irregular payroll items need to be approved by an owner or manager.

Add an irregular payroll item for a staff member

  1. At the top of any Pike13 page, select Staff.
  2. Select staff member.
  3. Select Pay History from right sidebar.
  4. Select + Add Payroll Item under Pending Pay.
  5. Provide a description, amount, date, and optional Note for Owners and Managers.
  6. Select Finish.

Allowing tips and gratuities

You can allow tipping for any service that you offer. Tips are most commonly given for appointment services, although Pike13 allows tipping for classes and courses, too.

  1. At the top of any Pike13 page, select Staff.
  2. Select Tips.
  3. Check each service you want to allow tips for, select Update.

Warning

Clients can only add a tip in the studio.

When you allow tipping for a service, clients can only add a tip with the help of a staff member using the staff website. It is only available during checkout and allows staff to offer clients the ability to add a tip before completing the purchase.
